2025 Fritz Boyden Memorial Youth Fishing Tournament

The Fritz Boyden Memorial Youth Fishing Tournament is scheduled for Wednesday, June 11, 2025, in Nags Head, North Carolina. This annual, free event is designed for young anglers aged 4 to 16 and takes place across four ocean piers: Jennette’s Pier, Avalon Pier, Nags Head Fishing Pier, and Outer Banks Fishing Pier.
Participants are grouped into two age categories: 4–9 years and 10–16 years. Trophies and rod-and-reel combos are awarded to the largest fish caught by both a girl and a boy in each age group. The tournament is a catch-and-release event, promoting conservation and sportsmanship.Outer Banks
After a morning of fishing, participants and their families are invited to a celebratory awards lunch near the piers. The event is sponsored by the Nags Head Surf Fishing Club and honors the legacy of Fritz Boyden, a passionate advocate for youth fishing.
Come enjoy the free Fritz Boyden Memorial Youth Fishing Tournament brought to you by the Nags Head Surf Fishing Club. Bring your children to the Pier and compete for the longest fish in around a dozen catagories. The morning of fishing is followed by a free picnic lunch and awards banquets complete with door prizes.
