Rhythms of Ghana: Saakumu Dance Troupe

The Saakumu Dance Troupe project brings traditional and contemporary Ghanaian music and dance to the Outer Banks through school workshops, community engagement, and a public performance, fostering cultural understanding and enriching arts education. Saakumu is recognized as one of the leading cultural performing troupes in Ghana. The performance is free and open to the public.
The Saakumu Dance Troupe project brings traditional and contemporary Ghanaian music and dance to the Outer Banks through school workshops, community engagement, and a public performance, fostering cultural understanding and enriching arts education. The Troupe also has also won many regional and national cultural competitions. Members of Saakumu also instruct local children and foreign students in traditional music and dance.
The performance will take place in the Duck Amphitheater (1200 Duck Rd) on Thursday, May 8 at 6:30 p.m. The performance is free and open to the public.
