When thunder roars, go indoors – and then come back out the next day and search for fulgurites! The Outer Banks is known for summer thunderstorms and where there is thunder, there is always lightning. Stop by Jockeys Ridge and learn about what happens when lightning strikes the sand, how thunder forms, and what to do if you’re caught in a lighting storm! Fulgurites found right here at the Park will be on display.
