Keeper James Charlet’s Book Launch

Come to the Oregon Inlet Fishing Center on Sunday, April 13 from 2 - 4 pm for Keeper James' formal book launch for the release of his latest book Shipwreck Rescues of the Outer Banks: Sensational Wrecks and Heroic Rescues by the United States Life Saving Service. Come meet Keeper James. He will have pre-release copies of his latest book on sale. A personalized copy will be auctioned, with proceeds donated to the nonprofit Outer Banks Coast Guard History Preservation group working to save the 1898 Oregon Inlet Life-Saving Station right across the Oregon Inlet bridge. This is a FREE event.

Surfrider Foundation Beach Clean Up

Jockey's Ridge Soundside Access 330 W Soundside Rd, Nags Head

There will be a series of beach cleanups this spring sponsored by Kitty Hawk Kites and Surfrider Foundation. Participants will meet at the Jockey's Ridge Soundside Rd. public sound access. Once volunteers have checked in, they will receive gloves and cleanup bags, and will be free to clean up a stretch of beach of their own choosing. All participants will be encouraged to use the Marine Debris Tracker app to log the trash they have picked up.
