Another Round 25K at Jockey’s Ridge

Jockey's Ridge State Park 300 W Carolista Dr, Nags Head

The Another Round 25K is an endurance running event hosted by Outer Banks Sporting Events, scheduled for October 18, 2025, at Jockey’s Ridge State Park in Nags Head. Participants are challenged to run one 5K loop every hour, for a total of five loops (25K total) between 7:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. Runners can compete individually or form two-person teams (alternating loops), and must complete each 5K within a 55-minute cutoff to continue. The course includes a mix of terrain with a small dune crossing and loop start/finish. All loops are chip timed, and awards are based on cumulative time. Participants receive a shirt, a finisher medal, snacks, and drinks. A portion of the race proceeds benefits Friends of Jockey’s Ridge to support dune preservation.

Outer Banks Seafood Festival 2025

The Soundside Event Site 6800 S Croatan Hwy, Nags Head

The Outer Banks Seafood Festival returns to the Soundside Event Site in Nags Head on Saturday, October 18, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM. This beloved celebration showcases the region’s rich coastal heritage and culinary tradition with fresh local seafood from over a dozen restaurants, live music, arts and crafts vendors, and educational exhibits about the OBX commercial fishing industry. Attendees can enjoy fun contests like the mullet toss and net-casting challenge, while younger guests explore kid-friendly activities. General admission is $20 for ages 13 and up (children 12 and under are free) and includes $10 in beverage or merchandise bucks. VIP packages are also available. Free shuttle service and off-site parking will run from 9:30 AM to 7:00 PM, as no public parking is allowed at the event site. This year’s live music lineup features The Patriot Band, Colton James, and No More Room, with opening ceremonies kicking off at noon. Rededication of the Original Salvo Post Office

Salvo Original Post Office 27208 Roth Rd, Salvo

The historic Salvo Post Office will be rededicated on Saturday, October 18, from 2 to 5 p.m. on Roth Road in Salvo. Sponsored by the Chicamacomico Banks Volunteer Fire Department, the celebration will feature live music, hamburgers, and hot dogs, and is an opportunity for the community to discover – or rediscover – Hatteras Island’s smallest landmark. This event is FREE and open to the public.

Town of Duck Trunk-or-Treat

Duck Town Hall 1200 Duck Rd, Duck

The Town of Duck’s Trunk-or-Treat event is set for October 18, 2025, from 4:00 to 6:00 PM at Duck Town Hall, and it’s free and open to families. The evening will feature decorated vehicle trunks handing out candy, games on the lawn, giveaways from local businesses, and a performance by street entertainer Jonathan Austin. After the main festivities, attendees are invited to stay for a movie on the green at 6:45 PM, where Lemony Snicket’s A Series of Unfortunate Events will be shown, and popcorn, provided by the OBX Popcorn Shoppe. Just bring your own chairs and blankets. Costumes are encouraged, and participating businesses around town will help make the evening memorable and safe for kids.
