This collection is meant to celebrate the warm hug offered by our beautiful ocean as we drive up and down the coastal roads\, exploring the many beaches and seaside shops. Many of the works feature scenes from Corolla\, in particular some of my favorite hidden soundside spots and stretches of the beach in the offseason. \nRobyn Scott is a former K-8 art teacher and visual artist. She loves exploring how paint can express joy\, imagination\, and the beauty of natural spaces while working with bright color palettes that amplify the radiant hues of the Carolinas. She paints using acrylics on canvas\, focusing on layering and color blocking techniques to achieve a vibrant effect\, adding a touch of glitter here and there. She also works in fibers\, mixed media\, and pen and ink. Robyn has shown her work at venues such as the Imperial Centre for Arts & Science in Rocky Mount.

The show features works by talented regional artists\, including Mark Brothers\, Marcia Cline\, Carolina Cato\, Anna Donavan\, Janet Fenton\, Fay Edwards\, Sarah Gill\, Dawn Moraga\, Holly Nettles\, Rick Nilson\, Jaqueline Perry\, Brad Price\, Fen Rascoe\, Terry Rowell\, Meg Rubino\, Willow Rea Temple\, and more. Guests are invited to enjoy the first public viewing of the exhibit and meet some of the artists whose work captures the spirit of the dunes. All artwork will be available for purchase\, with a portion of proceeds supporting Friends of Jockey’s Ridge\, helping fund programs and conservation efforts at the park.

Many of the works feature scenes from Corolla\, in particular some of my favorite hidden soundside spots and stretches of the beach in the offseason. \nRobyn Scott is a former K-8 art teacher and visual artist. She loves exploring how paint can express joy\, imagination\, and the beauty of natural spaces while working with bright color palettes that amplify the radiant hues of the Carolinas. This collection is meant to celebrate the warm hug offered by our beautiful ocean as we drive up and down the coastal roads\, exploring the many beaches and seaside shops. Many of the works feature scenes from Corolla\, in particular some of my favorite hidden soundside spots and stretches of the beach in the offseason. \nRobyn Scott is a former K-8 art teacher and visual artist. She loves exploring how paint can express joy\, imagination\, and the beauty of natural spaces while working with bright color palettes that amplify the radiant hues of the Carolinas. She paints using acrylics on canvas\, focusing on layering and color blocking techniques to achieve a vibrant effect\, adding a touch of glitter here and there. She also works in fibers\, mixed media\, and pen and ink. Robyn has shown her work at venues such as the Imperial Centre for Arts & Science in Rocky Mount.

Beginning at 5:30 PM\, families can explore space-themed activity tables and hands-on educational experiences for kids before darkness falls. As the sun sets\, telescopes will be set up for public viewing\, giving visitors the chance to observe planets\, stars\, and other celestial objects with guidance from local astronomers. The free outdoor event is part of the North Carolina Science Festival’s statewide Star Party\, which brings skywatching programs to dozens of locations across North Carolina. Weather permitting\, night sky viewing continues until 10:00 PM\, and all are welcome to attend this FREE event.

Proceeds from the event will directly fund the 2026–2027 shelter season\, helping provide safe shelter\, meals\, and supportive services for members of the community in need.
