Hosted by Kitty Hawk Kites in partnership with the Surfrider Foundation Outer Banks Chapter\, this community event invites locals and visitors alike to help keep OBX beaches and waterways clean. \nVolunteers will meet at the Soundside Road public access near Jockey’s Ridge State Park to check in and receive gloves and cleanup bags before spreading out along the shoreline to collect litter. Participants are also encouraged to log what they find using the Marine Debris Tracker app\, helping support ongoing environmental research and conservation efforts. \nThis free\, family-friendly event welcomes volunteers of all ages (pets included—just keep them leashed). This collection is meant to celebrate the warm hug offered by our beautiful ocean as we drive up and down the coastal roads\, exploring the many beaches and seaside shops. Many of the works feature scenes from Corolla\, in particular some of my favorite hidden soundside spots and stretches of the beach in the offseason. \nRobyn Scott is a former K-8 art teacher and visual artist. She loves exploring how paint can express joy\, imagination\, and the beauty of natural spaces while working with bright color palettes that amplify the radiant hues of the Carolinas. She paints using acrylics on canvas\, focusing on layering and color blocking techniques to achieve a vibrant effect\, adding a touch of glitter here and there. She also works in fibers\, mixed media\, and pen and ink. Robyn has shown her work at venues such as the Imperial Centre for Arts & Science in Rocky Mount.

DESCRIPTION:Experience the waters of the Outer Banks during Kayak the Sound\, a guided paddling program at Jockey’s Ridge State Park. Join Ranger Austin for a peaceful morning paddle on the Roanoke Sound\, where participants will explore the aquatic side of the park while learning about local ecology\, wildlife\, and the natural and cultural history of the area. \nAll kayaking equipment and instruction will be provided\, making this program great for beginners and experienced paddlers alike. DESCRIPTION:Rotating Art Show: Golden Hour by Robyn Scott \nExhibit Dates:\nJanuary 30 – April 23\, 2026\nOn Display: Monday–Friday\, 9:00 AM – 4:30 PM \nOpening Reception:\nSaturday\, January 31\, 2026\n3:00 PM – 5:00 PM\nMeet the artist\, enjoy refreshments\, and celebrate coastal-inspired art! \nLocation:\nDuck Town Hall – First Floor Conference Room\n1200 Duck Road\nDuck\, NC 27949 \nGolden Hour is a love letter to the Carolina coast\, where the light hits Mother Earth with a gentle glow leading into the peaceful night sky. This collection is meant to celebrate the warm hug offered by our beautiful ocean as we drive up and down the coastal roads\, exploring the many beaches and seaside shops. Many of the works feature scenes from Corolla\, in particular some of my favorite hidden soundside spots and stretches of the beach in the offseason. \nRobyn Scott is a former K-8 art teacher and visual artist. She loves exploring how paint can express joy\, imagination\, and the beauty of natural spaces while working with bright color palettes that amplify the radiant hues of the Carolinas. She paints using acrylics on canvas\, focusing on layering and color blocking techniques to achieve a vibrant effect\, adding a touch of glitter here and there. She also works in fibers\, mixed media\, and pen and ink. Robyn has shown her work at venues such as the Imperial Centre for Arts & Science in Rocky Mount.
