Join a park Ranger for an exciting dune hike. This guided hike will take you through maritime evergreen forest and out to the tallest living sand dunes on the east coast. Learn about the unique ecosystem of Jockeys Ridge and recreational opportunities our park has to offer. Observe plants and learn about the wildlife at Jockey’s Ridge. This hike will take approximately 30 minutes and will meet at the Visitor’s Center Pavilion. Please wear appropriate shoes, sunscreen, and bring water!

Dare Arts is currently seeking entries for the 47th Annual Frank Stick Memorial Art Show. The show is open to Dare Arts members and residents of Dare County ages 18 and over. Open to Dare Arts members and non-members. Member entry fee is $25 and non-member entry fee is $35. Artists wishing to participate in the show can find the prospectus and sign up for a specific time to drop off their work online at DareArts.org/frankstickshow. Each artist may submit one entry in any visual arts media. Entries must be original, executed within the last two years (without supervision), and not previously exhibited in a Dare Arts show. Dare Arts will present the following awards: Eure Best In Show: $500 Excellence Awards (4): $250 each Honorable Mentions (3): $100 each People’s Choice: $75 (selected by public ballot during the opening reception).
