Veterans Day Ceremony Manteo
At 10 a.m., join the community at the Dare County Veterans Memorial, located at 300 Queen Elizabeth Avenue in Manteo, for a heartfelt ceremony honoring those who have served our nation. Hosted by the American Legion, this gathering offers a moment of reflection, gratitude, and unity as we pay tribute to the courage and sacrifice of our veterans.
Veterans Day Ceremony Nags Head
Join Us in Honoring Our Nation's Veterans on November 11 for the Veterans Day Ceremony at Nags Head's Town Hall beginning at 11 am. The ceremony will be at the front of Nags Head Town Hall, 5401 South Croatan Highway, Nags Head, NC. In case of bad weather, the ceremony will be held in the Nags Head Board of Commissioners' Room. This year’s event will feature Retired Navy Captain Robert Wasalaski as the guest speaker.
Veterans Day Ceremoy Southern Shores
At 11 a.m., the Town of Southern Shores will host a Veterans Day ceremony at Town Hall, located at 5375 N. Virginia Dare Trail. Organized by the Knights of Columbus, this special event invites the community to come together in gratitude and remembrance, honoring the brave men and women who have served and continue to serve our country.
Veterans Day Ceremony Kill Devil Hills
At 12:30 p.m., the Town of Kill Devil Hills will hold a Veterans Day ceremony at the Kill Devil Hills Veterans Memorial on Veterans Drive. Presented by the American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars, and Knights of Columbus, the event honors the service and sacrifice of all who have worn the nation’s uniform, bringing the community together in tribute and gratitude.

An Evening with Joseph Bathanti: NC’s 7th Poet Laureate
On Saturday, November 15, at 7 pm, experience a special evening of poetry with North Carolina’s 7th Poet Laureate Joseph Bathanti. Join Joseph Bathanti as he shares selections from his poetry, fiction, and personal essays that span his writing life of nearly five decades. Q & A will follow. Tickets are on sale at the event website for $8 -$13.

Baxter Miller Exhibit: Inheritance
From November 8 to December 20, 2025, the Vault Gallery will feature a collection of first-edition, framed original photographs by Baxter Miller. The exhibit, Inheritance, examines the liminality of sacred places. Ethereal vignettes of ancestral grounds anchor the photography exhibition by Baxter Miller, a descendant of a Hatteras Island family who arrived in the 1700s. Printed and framed oversized on Hahnemühle watercolor rag, the work stands in stark contrast to traditional depictions of landscape.

Secotan Market in Wanchese
Secotan Market in Wanchese is a producer-only market featuring fresh produce, vegetable ferments, kombucha, pasture-raised meat & eggs, pecans, mushroom products, pastries, pies, cakes, jams, pickles, honey, medicinal products, flowers, herbs, spices, teas, potted plants, natural skin care, rotating artisans and so much more. Our family of producers join each market in person to share food and goods that they have grown or crafted themselves, here in Northeastern North Carolina. We are deeply committed to honesty and sustainability in our practices. Winter Season Markets are every first and third Saturday of the month December - April 5 from 9am -12pm.
First Flight Holiday Market
The 2025 First Flight Holiday Markets will be held on Saturday, November 15 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and Saturday, November 22 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. A third market is also scheduled for Friday, December 19 from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. These events are hosted by the Town of Kill Devil Hills and will feature local vendors at Aviation Park.

Community Senior Resource Fair
On Saturday, November 15, 2025, the Dare County Older Adult Services Advisory Council will sponsor the Community Senior Resource Fair. This free event will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, November 15, 2025 at the Dare County Youth Center in KDH which is located at 602 Mustian Street in Kill Devil Hills.
Members of the public—including older adults, caregivers, friends and family members of all ages—are encouraged to attend the Community Senior Resource Fair, which aims to bring together a variety of local organizations, service providers and community leaders dedicated to supporting the well-being of Dare County’s older adults.
Attendees can explore valuable resources covering healthcare, wellness, technology and nutrition, while also enjoying numerous activities, such as food demonstrations, hands-on technology assistance, and networking with local support groups and senior-focused organizations.
