Curious Currents By Emily Holmes is the next exhibit in the Rotating Art Show. A free opening reception for the exhibit will take place on Saturday, November 1 from 3:00-5:00 p.m. Come see the exhibit and talk to the artist about her work.
The exhibit will be on display Monday-Friday (excluding holidays) from 9:00 a.m.-4:30 p.m. October 31, 2025- January 21, 2026 in the first floor conference room of the Town Hall.

Pea Island Bird Walk
Pea Island National Wildlife Refuge is home to nearly 400 species of birds that reside here or migrate through. Whether you're a beginner or an expert, you'll enjoy this casual stroll beside North Pond. Field guides, binoculars, sunscreen, and insect repellent are recommended. Some field guides and binoculars will be available for loan. Pea Island Bird Walks are held year-round except during the Wings Over Water Wildlife Festival in October and December. Meet at the Pea Island National Wildlife Refuge Visitor Center, located on NC Highway 12 approximately 4 miles south of Oregon Inlet and 9 miles north of Rodanthe. The Pea Island Bird Walk is FREE.

35th Annual Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration
The Dare County Martin Luther King Jr. Birthday Celebration Committee invites the community to its 35th annual MLK Birthday Celebration on Saturday, January 17 at 11 a.m. to 1 pm at Roanoke Island Presbyterian Church (855 US-64, Manteo). This year’s program will feature a musical celebration of Dr. King’s legacy with performances by The Echoes of Heritage and Ascencion Music Academy. The event honors Dr. King’s leadership in the Civil Rights Movement and the enduring impact of his work on people of all backgrounds. The program is free and open to the public, and light refreshments will be served following the celebration.
