A Night of 1587 Pumpkins

Come in costume for a glowing evening at The Elizabethan Gardens as the community works toward lighting 1,587 jack-o’-lanterns! Enjoy trick-or-treating, contests, a bonfire, and a pumpkin-lined path through the Gardens. Food and treats will be available, including hot chocolate and apple cider at the Snack Shack-o’-Lantern. There will be a costume contest, a scream contest, and a pumpkin-carving contest.

Evening Schedule

  • 5:30–7 p.m.: Pumpkin drop-off and trick-or-treating
  • 7 p.m.: Contests begin
  • 8:30 p.m.: Event ends

Help create the display during free pumpkin-carving sessions on October 28 and 29, from 10 a.m.–4 p.m. Your pumpkin will join the illuminated path, and you can take it home after the October 30 event. Guests may also bring their own carved pumpkins.

Location: The Elizabethan Gardens, 1411 National Park Drive, Manteo
Admission: Tickets required; visit the event website to purchase. Adults $12; ages 6–17 $8; ages 3–5 $4; ages 2 and under free. Dogs $5.
