First Day Free Climbs at Currituck Beach Lighthouse

Come climb the Currituck Lighthouse stairs for free on the first day of the 2024 Season! You may climb any time 9am-5pm on March 23. Participants must be 4+ years older to climb or accompany an adult in a backpack style carrier. Strollers are not allowed in the stairwell of the light house. Bring the family to enjoy this FREE event with the entire family!
The Currituck Beach Lighthouse was built in 1875 to fill the last remaining “dark space” on the East coast. Open to the public since 1990, the tower is open every day in season (weather permitting) 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. through November 30th. Enjoy the beautiful grounds, the 220 steps to the top, the panoramic view of the northern Outer Banks, a unique elliptical brick path, and the Victorian stick style buildings. The smaller Keeper’s dwelling is open as a museum shop.
