Holiday Star Party Food Drive

Jockey’s Ridge State Park will be hosting an evening under the stars on Friday November 22, 2024, from 5:30 to 8:30pm. Telescopes will be set up for public viewing. Staff and volunteers will guide you across the universe. Be a SHINNING STAR and support the event by dropping off a canned good. Donations will be provided to individuals in need within our community over the holiday season by our wonderful friends at Beach Food Pantry. This event is made possible with the support of the OBX Astronomy Club, Dare County Library, and Beach Food Pantry. This event will take place at the park’s visitor center parking area.  All are welcome to bring their own equipment.

There will be a rain date on Saturday November 23, 2024, from 5:30 to 8:30pm.

There are restrictions on the types of food donations. Close-dated or expired foods under certain conditions are acceptable.

Canned Vegetables (15 oz)

Canned Fruit (15 oz)

Peanut Butter (18 oz)

Canned Chicken, Ham or Tuna (5 oz cans)

Brown Rice (16 oz)

Canned Soup

Pork & Beans

Canned Beef Stew

Canned Beef Chili with Beans

Diced Canned Tomatoes (14.5 oz)

Grape or Strawberry Jelly (18 oz)

Pancake Mix (“just add water”)
