Opening Reception for the Chicamacomico Shakes Exhibit

Local artists will display artwork made from an original 1911 Chicamacomico Cookhouse shake. Shakes will be on sale at the exhibit ($150 each), which honors the 150th Anniversary of the U.S. Life Saving Service in North Carolina. The opening reception for the Chicamacomico Shakes Exhibit is from 6pm to 8pm. Visitors can see all of the amazing shakes and learn the history of Chicamacomico Life-Saving Station. The opening reception is during downtown Manteo’s First Friday festivities, and is free and open to the public.
All proceeds from the sale of shakes will benefit Dare Arts and the Chicamacomico Historical Association.
