Outer Banks Triathlon
Friday–Saturday, September 11–12
Roanoke Island / Fort Raleigh National Historic Site, Manteo
Athletes take on the Croatan Sound and roads of Roanoke Island during the annual Outer Banks Triathlon. Friday includes packet pickup and race preparation at Fort Raleigh, with racing beginning Saturday morning at the Old Swimming Hole. The Olympic race starts at 7 a.m., followed by the Sprint at 7:10 a.m. Spectators are welcome to come out and cheer on athletes as they swim, bike, and run their way across Roanoke Island. Spectator shuttles operate between the race area and Fort Raleigh Saturday morning. Strollers and pets are not allowed.
Photo ID Required: All athletes are required to show a photo ID. Have your bib number ready! If you don’t know your bib number, there will be a separate line up to request it. Knowing your bib number expedites the pickup process. NO PHOTO ID, NO RACE, NO EXCEPTIONS.
USAT Rules: Athletes may only pick up their own packets. Under no circumstances may an athlete pick up a packet for another person. All relay members must be present to receive the packet, or we will split up the relay packet for each participant. Youth athletes without an ID must be accompanied by a parent/guardian with a photo ID. Parents cannot pick the packet up if the youth athlete is not with them.
