Racing the Night
As part of the nationwide celebration of America’s 250th anniversary, the Town of Duck presents Racing the Night, a powerful new mini-musical that tells the remarkable true story of Susanna Bolling, a 16-year-old girl whose bravery helped shape the course of the American Revolution.
Set in Revolutionary-era Virginia, Racing the Night follows Susanna’s daring midnight ride to deliver critical intelligence to the Continental Army while evading British forces. Featuring a dynamic musical score, compelling storytelling, and an all-teen cast, this inspiring production shines a light on one of the Revolutionary War’s lesser-known heroes and celebrates the impact of youthful courage, determination, and patriotism.
Presented as part of the Dare A250 celebration, this brand-new 2026 production is a unique opportunity for families, history enthusiasts, and visitors to experience an engaging chapter of American history through live theater and music.
