The Violin Conspiracy: April Book of the Month

April 24 @ 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm

Dare Arts and Downtown Books are hosting another North Carolina Reads book club discussion at 6:30pm on Wednesday, April 24 at the Dare Arts Center. The event is free and open to everyone. At the heart of North Carolina Reads is N.C. Humanities’ desire to connect communities through shared reading experiences.

In April, participants will be discussing The Violin Conspiracy by Brendan Slocumb, which is a riveting fictional story about a young black musician who faces racism, poverty, and social stigmas while pursuing his dream. The book club discussion will be led by Dare Arts Executive Director Jessica Sands and owner of Downtown Books, Jamie Anderson.

Those interested in participating in this event can purchase the book online, at Downtown Books in Manteo, or Duck’s Cottage Coffee & Books in Duck, so that they can begin reading and are prepared to discuss the book in April.
