The Wall That Heals

The Wall That Heals is a traveling, three-quarter scale replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C. It tours the country and will be on display with a mobile education center from November 16 through November 19, 2023 at the Soundside Event Site in Nags Head. This free exhibit, hosted by the Dare County Veterans Advisory Council, will be open to the public 24 hours a day.
Like the original Vietnam Memorial, The Wall That Heals is erected in a chevron-shape. Visitors can do name rubbings of individual service member names. The replica is constructed of Avonite, a synthetic granite, and its 140 numbered panels are supported by an aluminum frame. Machine engraving of the more than 58,000 names along with modern LED lighting allow The Wall that Heals visible day or night.
