12th Annual Town of Manteo Youth Fishing Tournament

Grab the fishing poles and bring the kids to the Manteo waterfront for the 12th Annual Town of Manteo Youth Fishing Tournament! Young anglers are invited to fish from the downtown docks, from the boat ramp to the net shed, while enjoying a fun morning on the water with family and friends. The tournament is open to residents and visitors alike, making it a great way for kids to experience one of the Outer Banks' favorite pastimes. Bring your own rod, reel, bucket and bait.

Registration begins at 8:00 am behind the museum. Each kid fishing will receive a T-shirt.
Lines-in will be at 8:15 am. Fishing is allowed on the docks between the Gazebo and the Net Shed.
Lines-out at 10:00. A hot dog cookout will begin at 10:30, with awards to follow.
1st - 3rd place awards will be presented to the following age groups. 4 to 7, 8 to 11, and 12 to 17 years old.
An award will also be given for the smallest and most unusual fish.

Choose a small plate with one piece of fresh fried fish or a large plate with two pieces, both served with coleslaw, potato salad, hush puppies and iced tea with free refills. Be sure to save room for something sweet from the dessert table!

Even better, your dinner helps support the community. Proceeds from the season benefit the Hatteras Fire Department, Ladies Fire Auxiliary, Civic Association and Hatteras United Methodist Church, which in turn support numerous local programs and charitable causes.
