National Aviation Day Celebration 2026

Dare County Regional Airport

Celebrate the Outer Banks' incredible connection to aviation history at the annual National Aviation Day Celebration! Held each year on August 19, the birthday shared by Orville Wright and his sister Katharine, the celebration brings aviation history and modern aircraft together for a fun, family-friendly day at Dare County Regional Airport.

Explore airplane displays, meet exhibitors, listen to guest speakers and grab lunch from local food trucks. Kids can join in a special scavenger hunt while aviation enthusiasts of all ages get an up-close look at aircraft.
