    “Golden Hour” by Robyn Scott is the first exhibit in the 2026 Rotating Art Show series. The exhibit will be on display in the first floor conference room of the Town Hall and open from 9:00 a.m.- 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday (excluding holidays) from January 30-April 23, 2026. Golden Hour is a love letter to the Carolina coast, where the light hits Mother Earth with a gentle glow leading into the peaceful night sky. This collection is meant to celebrate the warm hug offered by our beautiful ocean as we drive up and down the coastal roads, exploring the many beaches and seaside shops. Many of the works feature scenes from Corolla, in particular, some of my favorite hidden soundside spots and stretches of the beach in the offseason.

    Practicing Persistence: Pocosin Arts Residents Exhibit at Dare Arts in Manteo showcases the work of three emerging artists currently in residence at Pocosin Arts School of Fine Craft. The exhibit features handcrafted works in mediums such as ceramics, wood, and metal, highlighting each artist’s exploration of form, texture, and evolving craft techniques. Visitors can experience the creativity and craftsmanship of these rising artists while celebrating the continued tradition of handmade art. The exhibition will be on display in the Vault Gallery March 7–28, with a free opening reception March 6 from 6–8 p.m. during First Friday in downtown Manteo.

  • Blackbeard’s Revenge 100 Ultra & Relay

    Blackbeard’s Revenge 100 Ultra & Relay

    Embrace your inner pirate at the Blackbeard’s Revenge 100, an epic ultra-distance race across the Outer Banks. This unique endurance event invites runners to conquer 100 miles, 100 kilometers, or a team relay along a scenic coastal route stretching from Corolla to Hatteras.

    The race begins early on Saturday, March 21, 2026, with the 100-mile start in Corolla and the 100K start in Nags Head, sending runners south along 100% paved coastal roads that traverse the length of the Outer Banks. Participants face shifting weather, coastal winds, and long stretches of open road—making the challenge both physically demanding and unforgettable.

    The adventure concludes at The Wreck Tiki Bar in Hatteras, where runners celebrate their finish after completing one of the East Coast’s most distinctive ultramarathons. Must register by the end of the day March 17.

    Secotan Market is a producer-only farmers’ market held in Wanchese, North Carolina, where local growers and artisans sell fresh produce, pastured meats and eggs, fermented foods, baked goods, honey, flowers and more directly to visitors in a community-focused setting.

    The 2025 seasonal schedule runs as follows: during the Cool Season (December through April) the market operates on the 1st and 3rd Saturdays from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM; in the Main Season (May through September) it is open every Saturday from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM; and in the Fall Season (October through Thanksgiving) it again runs every Saturday from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, with an additional market on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM.

    This schedule gives you plenty of opportunities to visit on weekend mornings throughout the year, with the busiest and earliest hours in the heart of the growing season.

  • First Day of the Season: Free Climbs at the Currituck Beach Lighthouse

    Celebrate the start of the climbing season at the historic Currituck Beach Lighthouse during the First Day of the Season – Free Climbs event. Visitors are invited to climb the lighthouse free of charge as the tower reopens for the season, offering a unique chance to take in panoramic views of the northern Outer Banks from the top.

    Guests can arrive anytime during the day and climb the lighthouse at their own pace while exploring the grounds of Historic Corolla Village. Climbers must be at least 4 years old, though infants may accompany adults in a carrier. The event provides a fun way for locals and visitors alike to kick off the season and experience one of the Outer Banks’ most iconic landmarks.

    The excitement begins with a community-wide Easter egg hunt, where children can search the park for colorful eggs filled with surprises. After the hunt, the fun continues with photos with the Easter Bunny, interactive games, and creative Easter-themed crafts that kids can take home.
