Kick off the holiday season in the Town of Manteo on Friday, December 6, 2024, at 6:00 p.m. for the annual Christmas Tree Lighting. This event takes place on Queen Elizabeth Avenue in front of the historic Dare County Courthouse, bringing together the community for an evening of festive music, holiday cheer, and warm traditions. The ceremony will feature performances by local musicians and choirs, setting a festive tone for the evening as the tree is illuminated against the backdrop of downtown Manteo. You can expect holiday music, caroling, live performances by local school choirs and musicians, complimentary hot cocoa and seasonal treats. Santa Claus will make a special visit, delighting children and providing a photo opportunity.
This year's Downtown Manteo Christmas Parade will be held on Saturday, December 7th, 2024 starting at 10:30 am. The parade rain date for this event is Sunday, December 8th, 2024 at 2:00 PM. Plan to watch or participate in the parade. Participants interested in walking/riding in the parade must register and follow guidelines for participation.
