48th Annual Wright Kite Festival

Celebrate the wonder of flight where it all began at the 48th Annual Wright Kite Festival! Enjoy large show kites, stunt and power kite lessons, and free paper kite making at this family-friendly Outer Banks event. Hosted by Kitty Hawk Kites and the Wright Brothers National Memorial, this family-friendly event features spectacular 30- to 100-foot display kites, free stunt and power kite flying lessons, a children’s kite-making station, and plenty of opportunities to fly your own kite on the historic grounds where Wilbur and Orville Wright made aviation history in 1903. Festival activities are free with park admission, making it a perfect summer outing for all ages.
