Discover the natural beauty of the Outer Banks during a Guided Beach Walk hosted by the Outer Banks Center for Wildlife Education. This one-hour, family-friendly program invites participants of all ages to explore the shoreline while learning about the coastal environment.

Led by a knowledgeable instructor, the walk focuses on whatever nature reveals along the way—seashells, shorebirds, marine life, sand formations, and even the chance of spotting dolphins offshore. It’s a relaxed and engaging opportunity to learn more about the unique ecosystems that make the Outer Banks so special.

This program is FREE. Participants should meet at the public beach access on E. Corolla Village Road, across from the Currituck Beach Lighthouse, near the green sign by the boardwalk. Advance registration is recommended, as registration closes 30 minutes before the program if there are no reservations.

Perfect for families, nature lovers, and curious beachcombers, this guided walk offers a fun and educational way to experience the OBX shoreline.

Nature Photography for Kids at Outer Banks Center for Wildlife Education

Young nature lovers can learn how to capture the beauty of the outdoors during Nature Photography for Kids, a free, one-hour program designed for ages 7–14. Participants will learn the basics of photography, including composition, perspective, and simple techniques for taking better nature photos. This is a FREE Program.

After a short introduction, kids will head outside to practice their new skills while photographing the surrounding natural environment. Participants are encouraged to bring a camera or smartphone to use during the hands-on portion of the program.

This fun and educational class is a great way for young photographers to explore nature while learning creative skills. Registration closes 15 minutes before the program if there are no reservations.
