Enjoy the story of Sir Walter Raleigh’s final expedition to the New World and the 117 men, women and children who disappeared into mystery. The Lost Colony show will run from May 29 - Aug 23, 2025 Monday - Saturdays, 8:30 pm.

House opens at 7:30 with the concessions, gift shop and rest rooms open.  Seating begins at 8 PM.

Explore the marshes, islands, and creeks of Pamlico Sound on a two- hour tour designed especially for kids and others who are looking for a hands-on experience and who don't mind wading in shallow water. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Hat, sunscreen, insect repellent, and drinking water are recommended. Reservations and secure footwear are required. We provide canoes, paddles, life jackets and two leaders. Meet at Pea Island National Wildlife Refuge Visitor Center, approximately 4 miles south of the Marc Basnight Bridge over Oregon Inlet, Hwy

The Avon Farmers Market features a variety of local artists, craftsmen, regional farmers, and other homegrown entrepreneurs, with a new-in-2023 location that is stationed on the grounds near Vacasa and the Avon Post Office. The market has 45 vendors every week, and runs every Tuesday From June 10 until September 9.

The First Flight Farmer's Market happens every Tuesday from 9 am to 1 pm, June 17 through August 12. There are about 50 local vendors that participate in the First Flight Farmer's Markets. Sometimes there are food trucks and live music. Vendors offer a wide variety of goods from sweet & savory treats, woodworking, photography, paintings, jewelry, candles, bath and body items and so much more - you’re sure to find tons of one-of-a kind items for yourself and others!

The markets are located at Aviation Park, 103 Veterans Drive. Parking is available at the park and overflow parking is available at the First Flight High School (directly across the street).

Reserve your spot for this FREE program on Estuary Exploration. The program explores the difference between the sound and the ocean and the wildlife found in brackish waters. Join in an investigation of the ecology of the Pamlico Sound. From fish and shrimp to crabs and snails, this estuary offers much to explore! Hat, sunscreen, insect repellent, and drinking water are recommended. We invite you to wear clothing that can get wet/dirty.
