Todd Hale; Mixed Media is the next exhibit in the Rotating Art Show. The exhibit will be on display Monday-Friday (excluding holidays) from 9:00 a.m.-4:30 p.m. August 1 – October 29 in the first floor conference room of the Town Hall. A free opening reception for the exhibit will take place on Thursday, August 6 from 4:00-6:00 p.m. Come see the exhibit and talk to the artist about his work.
Fall 2025 Installation: Souvenir by artist Todd Hale will be on display in The Courtyard Fall of 2025. The mixed media installation will open at 6:00 pm on Friday, September 5 and remain on display through mid-November. More information on this installation below.
Returning for its fourth season in 2025, the Old Trent Market is coming once again every Thursday with artists and vendors from all over the Outer Banks region. Continuing well into the fall months, the Old Trent Market features a distinctive collection of gifts, artworks, apparel, local crafts and goodies, and much more. It begins May 15 and runs until October 30 every Thursday from 9 am - 2 pm.

The 13th Annual Rock The Cape will look different this year with Dare Arts reimagining the event into a full day Hatteras Island art gallery tour, which will be held on Friday, September 26. Eight art galleries from Salvo to Hatteras Village will be participating in this year’s Rock The Cape Gallery Tour, which is a free, family-friendly, self-guided tour. Each of the galleries will be open on Friday, September 26 for residents and visitors to enjoy shopping for local art. The galleries will also have visiting artists, live art demonstrations, snacks and drinks, sales, and/or Hatteras musicians playing live music to elevate the shopping experience and introduce more people to the Hatteras Island Arts community.

· Swell Art Gallery in Buxton will have live music, meet the artist, and baked goods

· Red Drum Pottery in Frisco will have fresh hibiscus or yaupon tea and live music
· The Blue Lagoon in Frisco will have live music, meet the artist, BBQ, wine, and chocolate
· Family Jewels in Hatteras will have live music, meet the artist, and mimosas
· Blue Pelican, Gallery, Gifts + Yarn in Hatteras will have live music, a sale, and snacks
Swoop in and create your own creature of the night, the OWL! Hang with Ranger Austin and learn more about the feathered master of the night. It is going to be a hoot! This program is FREE and open to the public.
Recommended for ages 5 and up.

Secotan Market in Wanchese is a producer-only market featuring fresh produce, vegetable ferments, kombucha, pasture-raised meat & eggs, pecans, mushroom products, pastries, pies, cakes, jams, pickles, honey, medicinal products, flowers, herbs, spices, teas, potted plants, natural skin care, rotating artisans and so much more. Our family of producers join each market in person to share food and goods that they have grown or crafted themselves, here in Northeastern North Carolina. We are deeply committed to honesty and sustainability in our practices. Winter Season Markets are every first and third Saturday of the month December - April 5 from 9am -12pm.
This is a FREE event; however, reservations required. Learn all about mycology from refuge staff, then join us for a nature walk to explore mushrooms, lichen, and other fungi in their natural habitats. ecoEXPLORE is an incentive-based community science program for children in grades K-8, but all are welcome to attend.
