Pea Island Bird Walk is a FREE event. Pea Island is ACTUALLY for the birds! This National Wildlife Refuge has close to 400 species of birds that live here or pass through. Whether you're a beginner or an expert, you'll enjoy this casual stroll beside North Pond. Field guides, binoculars, sunscreen, and insect repellent are recommended. Some field guides and binoculars will be available for loan.

Pea Island Bird Walks are held year-round except during the Wings Over Water Wildlife Festival in October and December. Meet at the Pea Island National Wildlife Refuge Visitor Center, located on NC Highway 12 approximately 4 miles south of Oregon Inlet and 9 miles north of Rodanthe.

Pocosin Wetlands Day Camp – Soundside Science Scouts

Pocosin Wetlands Day Camp Soundside Science Scouts is a single Day Camp. Children must be 7 -9 years of age to participate in this educational activity. Participants will step into the swamp to explore the world of the pocosin wetlands. In this day-long mini-camp experience, students will uncover the unique features of this freshwater ecosystem. From bears and red wolves to mud sunfish and wood ducks, there’s surely something to pique anyone’s interest in this beautiful, boggy place. Along the way, participants will play games, make crafts, and create lasting memories with old and new friends alike. Each camp will accommodate up to 16 individuals. Registration fee is $80.

Our family of producers join each market in person to share food and goods that they have grown or crafted themselves, here in Northeastern North Carolina. We are deeply committed to honesty and sustainability in our practices. Winter Season Markets are every first and third Saturday of the month December - April 5 from 9am -12pm.
