OBX Got Talent returns for Season 3 at The Pioneer Theater in downtown Manteo. Auditions will be held January 24 from 2–4 p.m. and January 25 from 3–5 p.m., welcoming performers of all ages and talents. Prefer to be in the audience? Live performance rounds begin January 31, continue February 21, and wrap up with the finale on March 21, all at 7 p.m. Tickets are available through The Pioneer Theater box office and online. This 2-hour Zoom seminar offers new and less-experienced boaters a guided virtual tour of the Outer Banks waterways from a boater’s perspective. Using OpenCPN navigation software and Google Earth, participants will “fly over” the OBX from north to south, exploring sounds, rivers, channels, marinas, and key points of interest including important navigation hazards. The seminar covers practical questions such as where to launch, fuel up, dock, swim, shop, eat, sightsee, and fish, helping boaters gain confidence and familiarity before heading out on the water.
