Roanoke Island Festival Park

Come to Roanoke Island Festival Park indoor theater on select nights for our Bluegrass Island Nights concert series. On February 22 from 7 - 9 pm, enjoy the music of Seth Mulder and Midnight Run. Made up of 5 like-minded musicians and graduates of college music programs, this group of friends and musicians created a band tied to the rich traditions of bluegrass music. They present a high-energy show filled with nostalgic entertainment, tight harmonies, and skillful musicianship, all built around their curated set list of original material and lost covers. Doors open for each show at 6:30PM and the show starts at 7:00PM.

On March 29 from 7 - 9 pm, enjoy the music of the Malpass Brothers, two young brothers who discovered their grandfather Malpass record collection. Drawn like a moth to a flame, Chris and Taylor studied the brother-harmony bluegrass duos of Jim & Jesse, the Louvin and Wilburn Brothers and bathed in the sounds of Hank Williams, Lefty Frizzell, Charlie Pride, Merle Haggard. Doors open for each show at 6:30PM and the show starts at 7:00PM. Refreshments will be available for purchase including beer, wine, and snacks. Seating is limited to only 250 people. With their fast picking and fresh arrangements, ShadowGrass is moving forward in the bluegrass genre by incorporating each member’s varied influences into a fresh project that branches outside the bounds of traditional music while maintaining traditional instrumentation. Doors open for each show at 6:30PM and the show starts at 7:00PM. Refreshments will be available for purchase including beer, wine, and snacks. Seating is limited to only 250 people.
